Paradise series
The Paradise series is inspired by Pointillist, Expressionist and Perception theories. The purpose of the series is to create a sense of wellbeing through the different compositions, color combinations and interactions. What is unique about the project is intention, design, variety of technique and materials and the inclusion of time as part of the composition.
Color has been used in many ways to create, states of mind, to emotionally affect the viewer. Paradise series pushes boundaries by how color is presented to create a state of wellbeing, by the the combinations of color, media, materials. The different brands of oil, acrylics, pastel colors, clear gels are applied to interact, contrast, to influence mood. The paintings change overtime, some colors, areas will deepen, darken, others will remain, creating new interactions, contrasts, generating new dialogs with the viewer as time passes.
Technical note:
For Paradise #3, #4, #5 and #6: As in the "Angels and Dragons" and the "In the Garden" series, different brands of White oil and acrylic color were treated and used with the knowledge that some will darken , some will yellow and some will stay in the same hue. The intention is to create change over time and thus deepen and harmonize the composition as well as physically "grow" with you.
Paradise 3a, 4a, 5a and 6a show the changes over time. Paradise 3, 4, 5 and 6 were photographed around January 2020 and again on November 2021.
For Paradise #7, #8 and #9 the combinatons of Soft Pastel colors and clear acrylic gels were designed to influence mood and change overtime. The interactions will create depth, the colors will deepen and a sense of atmosphere as if a breeze is passing through will become more apparent.
Test photos for Paradise #7, #8, #9 are coming up this week.
