Bugs
Among my influences, the Chinese artists of the Southern Sung Dynasty, revealed our interest in the smaller world of bugs and wild flowers, of ponds, fish and beetles through their ink wash paintings and Sumi-e brush drawings.
When I water the plants that grow in pots on my balcony I sit for a moment and imagine myself so small that the pots could be worlds and the plants forests for me to explore, the puddles of water become lakes, little leaves turn into ships and a rock in to a mountain.
This series of watercolors, is inspired by my interest and curiosity in the microcosm of plants, weeds, wild flowers and the creatures that inhabit these realms.
The purpose is to pass on the wonderful dreams inspired by the moments spent admiring these little worlds.
Cheers!
